Physics 12
A lot of your term 2 mark rests upon this lab.
The Lab is due Thursday 8:45 am NO EXCEPTIONS, 25% off per DAY late
in FRI by 8:45 - 25% FRI by 3:00 pm - 50% MON ferget it
I will be in my room Tuesday afternoon to assist students.

Physics 11
When mature people have work to do, they get to work. When children have work to do, they run away and play.

I want to reward those who are maturing and showing the stuff that will allow them to succeed wherever they go.

On the Thursday Feb 1, for BONUS marks, show me some effort….

1. TUTORING THAT HAS BEEN DONE THUS FAR.
2. A WELL ORGANIZED PHYSICS NOTEBOOK SHOWING THE ADVANCED USE OF 3 COLUMN NOTES. SAMPLE PROBLEMS, RIGHT/WRONG, LINKS>>
3. WORK ON THE SNAP “ADDITIONAL ENERGY PROBLEMS” p245-249 THE TEST WILL BE BASED ON THESE SNAP PROBLEMS
4. HAVE CHOSEN YOUR TOPIC, AND CAN SHOW HAND-WRITTEN NOTES AND RESEARCH ON YOUR TOPIC
5. PRODUCED 1 PAGE SUMMARIES WITH SAMPLE PROBLEMS FOR EACH OF THE PRIOR UNITS: KINEMATICS, DYNAMICS, MOMENTUM & IMPULSE

Term 2 Ends March 1. For Grade 12’s applying to University, Term 2 Marks determine early university admission.

Some GRAPHING help for Physics 11's.
homework link
http://www.members.shaw.ca/klausbreslauer/Phys11/P11_Dyn2Graphs.doc

Pick the vertical and horizontal limits of the graph and hence scale so the graph fills at least 1/2 the page.

Example:
Count how many big graphing divisions you have = count
Find highest and lowests number in a set, highest - lowest = range.
range/count = target spacing

Use practical spacing of of either 2, 4, 5, 10 , which is slightly larger than target spacing

Draw a best fit line.

Physics 12 Over the holidays. Work on (post secondary)school applications, scholarships...What is your focussed purpose in life for the next three years?
Start SERIOUS work on the 2 D momentum Lab.
Figure out the scale on each drawing. Determine the real world speed and direction for the objects before and after the crash.
Play with MS EXCEL, as it is a great program for analysis.

Physics 11 Over the holidays. Improve your marks, work on the graphing questions from the test. They will ONLY be accepted on your first day back.
